ロリキートのユーちゃん/Lorikeet's Yuu chan

最近は家に遊びにくるロリキートに名前をつけています。

よく観察すると、顔や性格が違うのが分かってきました。

もうひとつは色のパターンもちょっと違うのです。

.

Recently we gave names to the lorikeets that often come our house.

As I get to know them I can tell them apart from

their features, colour patterns and personality.

2ヶ月ぐらい前からよく家に来るシングルのロリキートの"ユーちゃん”です。

ユーちゃんは頭と首の横縞のパターンに特徴があります。
すごく可愛い性格なんです。

他のカップルは絶対別の鳥と一緒に餌を食べないいのですが、

ユーちゃんは他の鳥が来ても一緒にシェアしています。

そんな優しい性格のせいか後から来た鳥からつつかれて追い出されたりしてます。

頭にちょっと傷があるのもそのせいでしょう。

This is Yuu-chan.

She started coming about two months ago.

She has a "bald" spot on the top of her head and a distinctive colour pattern on her neck.

She also has a very cute character.

Usually lorikeets don't share food with other lorikeets except their partners

and will fight with each other.

But Yuu-chan always shares with the others.

I wonder if the "bald" spot is from getting attacked because she is never on guard.

ハンドフィードしても噛むことはありません。

Also unlike some of the other lorikeets she never bites when getting from a hand.

左、キューちゃん（赤ちゃん）にも優しくしています。

にーちゃんはユーちゃんがキューちゃんのお母さんじゃないかって言ってますが

私は違うと思います。

初めてキューちゃんを見たとき、確かにカップルのロリーキートと一緒だったのです。

ユーちゃんが優しいからお母さんと思っているのかもしれません。

Here is Q-chan (the baby) on the left with Yuu-chan.

Ni-chan said that maybe Yuu-chan is Q-chans mother

because she is so nice to Q-chan.

I don't think so because the first time Q-chan she with two other lorikeets.

I think that because Yuu-chan is so nice Q-chan follows her around.

昨日はにーちゃんと一緒にシャーリーの展示会に行きました。

シャーリーは私達の友達で現在東京芸術大学の大学院生です。

この展示会の為に数週間シドニーに戻って来ました。

Yesterday Ni-chan and I went to Shirley's exhibition.

She is a friend of ours who is a masters student at Tokyo University of the Arts.
She came back to Sydney for few weeks to hold this exhibition.

今回のテーマは「こま」です。

シャーリーの家族,友達が描いたいろいろな独楽のイラストを再現した展示会です。

She made spinning tops from drawings from her family and friends.

昨年、シャーリーから独楽のイラストと一言書いて東京の自宅に
送るように頼まれました。
みんなの絵を集めてポスターでもするのかなって思っていたら。。



うわーびっくり！私の変なイラストが本物も独楽になってました。
可愛いですね！



Last year Shirley asked us draw a spinning top and write some words and
I thought she collects them to make some poster or something....

Even such a complicated design she could make.

すごく楽しい展示会でシャーリーの創作力に脱帽です。

This exhibition is so much fun - Shirley is so creative.

オリーブツリー・マーケット/Day trip to Olive tree markets

この週末は、ゆう子ちゃんと一緒に、ニューカッスルのジャンクションにある

「Olive Tree Markets」に行ってきました。

アート、クラフト、デザインとファッション のアーティストマーケットで

ゆうこちゃんのお友達のりえさんとそのお友達3人で出店されています。

This weekend I had a day trip with Yuko to The Junction

"The Olive Tree markets"in Newcastle.

This market is Newcastle's Artisan Market and Yuko's friend

Rie shares a stall with two other people.

8:15AM チャッツウッドから電車で出発

We left Chatswood at 8:15AM

外の景色を楽しみながら、お喋りしていればあっと言う間に着きました。

We enjoyed the view and had a chat, so the time passed quickly.

約2時間半でアダムズタウンに到着

うわー　暑い！！！

この日は39度でした。

　ここからさらにバスで１０分程でジャンクションに着きました。

After two and half hours we arrived in Adamstown.

It was extremely hot!

It was 39ｃ

From here we caught a bus and it took about ten minute to The Junction.

この学校内でマーケットが開催されています。
The market is held at this school.


りえさんとゆう子ちゃん

りえさんの子供服ブランド "Angel Worx"

色、デザインも豊富で生地にもこだわりが見られます。

This is Rie's brand of clothes for children called "Angel Worx"

There are many different designs in many colours all made with

materials chosen by Rie herself.

私は、りえさんとストールをシェアされている "Kyoko" ブランド

でこのトップを買いました。

可愛いリボンが気に入ってます。

ハンドメイドというだけあって縫い目が綺麗で丁寧に作られています。

I bought this top made by Kyoko who shares the stall with Rie.

I like this ribbon very much.

Because it is handmade I can see the care that she took.

もう一人のお友達はなみさん

ペーパークラフト - 手の込んだギフトボックスとカード

The third person who shares the stall is Nami-san.

She makes craft goods from paper.

Here you can see some gift boxes and cards that she made.

手編みニットのブローチやコースターもユニークです。

Here is a brooch and a coaster that were knitted.

They are very unique.

マーケット内のユーカリの木に綺麗なピンクの花が付いていました。
While we were there we found this gum tree with a beautiful pink flower.

子供がフェイスペイントをやってもらっています。
Here are some children getting face painting.

楽しいシドニーからの日帰り旅行でした。

ゆう子ちゃん、誘ってくれてありがとう！

It is a great day trip from Sydney!
