今年のクリスマスランチはいつものように、にーちゃんと２人で。

We had a Christmas lunch just the two of us again this year.

今朝目覚めるとサンタクロースからプレゼントが届いていました！

This morning I found a present from Santa Claus.

　　　　でもラッピングペーパーが。。。Happy birthday??(笑)

　　　　Happy Birthday wrapping paper! Lol!

でも、今日は雨

レインコーブのイタリアンランチ／Italian lunch in Lane Cove

昨日は,うちのすぐ近くにある私たちのお気に入り

ピザレストランでランチしました。

普段はピザにしますが、一品料理も美味しそうなので

今までに注文したことないものにしてみました。

We went to a pizza restaurant near our place for lunch yesterday. 

We normally order pizza but we wanted to try something different.

私達の元旦/Our New Year

Happy New Year!!

今年の元旦はにーちゃんと２人きりで過ごしました。

I spent time New Year just with Ni-chan this year.

朝食はお雑煮となぜか豚バラの焼き鳥

We had breakfast Zoni with Yakitori.

お昼は焼き肉

Lunch with Yakiniku

夕方は最近よく来るシマちゃんとクロが遊びにきました。

Late afternoon lorikeets Shima and Kuro came to visit. 
Recently they come to our balcony often.

This year we had a seafood platter.

バルコニーには新しくソーラースターが仲間入りしました。

On the balcony the new solar powered star light shone.

焼き鳥パーティー/Yakitori party

 

先週の土曜日友達のシャーリーが４年間の留学を終えて日本から帰ってきたので、

Mr & Mrs X宅で焼き鳥パーティーをしました。

これは全部MrXの手料理です。

Last Saturday we had a welcome home party at MrX and Mrs.X's house for

our friend Shirley who has studied for four years in Japan.

The food shown in the photos was all made by Mr.X.

天気が悪かったので炭焼き焼き鳥は出来なかったけど、

グリルで作った焼き鳥もすごく美味しかったです。

MrX、ご馳走様でした！


Because the weather was bad, he couldn't use the charcoal BBQ
so he used the grill - it was very delicious!

噂のウッドファイヤー ピザ屋さんに行きました。

かきフライ/Fried oyster

今日はなんだか急にカキフライが食べたくなり、

生がきをにーちゃんに買ってきてもらいました。

シドニーでは1年中,新鮮な牡蠣が手に入り、生がき用に殻付きで売っています。

今夜は、早めのディナーで半分はかきフライ、半分は生でいただきました。

Today we had an early dinner.

 I really wanted to have kaki fry (Fried Oyster),and asked Ni-chan to buy some oysters.

In Sydney it is easy to buy fresh oysters all year round.

 They are always sold fresh in the shell.

 I had half of the oysters fried and half natural (raw).

スーパーで買ったパン粉で日本とはちょっと違ってますが、

中はジューシーでなかなか美味しく出来ました。

I bought a bread crumbs from the supermarket,
it is a bit different to Japanese bread crumbs,
 but after cooking was quite delicious.

レディースナイト/Ladies night at kai

今回の(12月7日)のレディースナイトは珍しく全員参加でニュートラルベイにある

「会」日本食レストランに行ってきました。

This time we went to Kai Japanese restaurant in Neutral bay.

Everyone in our group joined.

薄造りと北京ダックじゃなく東京ダックです。

It is a thin slice of sashimi and Tokyo duck similar to Peking duck.

この他にも色々オーダーしました。

人数が多いと沢山の種類が楽しめます。

毎回、数週間、人によっては数ヶ月ぶりに会うので、話すこともいっぱい、

食べることも忙しくあっという間に時間が過ぎてしまいます。

今年は全員でクリスマス会、忘年会を出来てよかったです！

 

We ordered more things than what I've shown.
We could enjoy so many different dishes today.
We all are not able to meet so often, so some of my friends
 I haven't seen for a few months.
 We had so many things to talk about, the time went very quickly,
especially because we were so busy eating.

土曜日の夕食はジョンのゴージャスBBQでした。

Saturday night John made a gorgeous BBQ.

海老とマンゴーのサラダ

 タコ、ホタテ、ビーフのBBQにポテトサラダ

Baby Octopus, scallop and beef BBQ plus potato salad.

美味しいBBQ、ご馳走様でした！！

特別なレモン/Special lemons

10月の初めに友達のジョンにお庭からもぎたてのレモンを沢山頂きました。

このレモン、普通の3－4倍の大きさで形もちょっといびつなのですが、味は1級品でした。

I've got a lots of fresh lemon from John from his garden  at the beginning of October.

They are 3-4times bigger than normal lemons

and not a good shape but they taste very good.

今日最後の1つを頂きました。

ご馳走様でした！！

炭火BBQ/Charcoal BBQ

先週の土曜日、バルコニーで炭火BBQをしました。

Last Saturday we had a charcoal BBQ at our balcony.

にーちゃんの格好、見てください！

初春ですが、夜はまだ冷えます。

にーちゃん！炭に火が付くまで、雑誌でも読みながら一杯？二杯？

Look at Ne-chan's clothes.

 Even in early spring, it is still a bit cold at night time.

While he waited for the charcoal to burn he had a drink (or two, three?)

にーちゃんのリクエストで、今年日本に帰った時にこの網を買ってきました。

海老を開き、刷毛でお醤油つけて和風に焼いてみました。

I bought this net when I wan in Japan at Ni-chan's request.

I opened the prawns and tried to do Japanese style, 

brushing on soy sauce as they cooked.

今日はにーちゃんお勧めのアメリカンリブも一緒にBBQ。

Today we also had American style BBQ ribs that Ni-chan wanted to try.
