最近のバルコニー/ Balcony update

先週、すごく寂しくなっていたバルコニーに、
パディントンのマーケットで買ったプラントを、樽プタンターや,
テラコッタの鉢に移し替えたりしてリアレンジしてみました。

Recently our balcony looked so bare so I bought some plants in Paddington market last week and rearranged planting into pots.

今週のシドニーは大雨続きでしたが,

今日はちょっとだけお日様が 顔をだしてくれました。

This week we had lots of heavy rain but today the sun appeared short time.

ちょっとお花があるだけで、バルコニーが明るくなります。

ロリキー達も鑑賞してくれているようで？？

嬉しくなりますね！

Some flowers make the balcony looks nice.

Even lorrikeets seem to enjoy looking at it??

先週、友達数人とバルコニーにいたら。。。

Last week when we were in our balcony with some friends....

かなやBurger/ Kanaya Burger

長崎帰省中に少人数で中学校の同窓会をしました。

殆どの人とは３３年ぶりに再会し、その中の１人、

小河君はかなやBurgerの経営者兼シェフになっていました。

While I was in Nagasaki, a few old friends and I met for a small school reunion.

Most of the people there I hadn't seen in 33 years.

One of my old classmates became a chef and the owner of his own hamburger shop.

早速、同級生の由美子と一緒にバーガーを食べにお店へ

After I found out, Yumiko and I went to his shop at the first opportunity.

ひき肉のバーガーだけではなく、とりかつ、海老ちり、あじフライ、すりみバーガーなど

長崎らしいオリジナリティ豊かなでメニューが並んでいました。

なんでシーフードかなって思ったら、小河君はもともと、和のシェフで奥様の実家がお魚屋さんなのです。

パンはその日に焼けたものしか使わないため、パンが無くなったらお店を閉めるらしいのです

It is much more than just a shop that sells beefburgers.

He has many original "burgers" - also served with bread buns in the like a hamburger he uses chicken katsu,

chili prawns, fried fish (Yellow tail), fish cakes and so many more.

Why seafood?

It is because he used to be a Japanese chef. Also, his wife's family business is a seafood shop.

He only uses fresh buns that are baked each day.

If he ever sells out of a days buns, he closes the shop early.

あー！！ オープン11時、

Ah, it opens 11Am.

かなり早く来過ぎた為に肝心のバーガーは食べられず、残念。。。

We came too early before the shop opened. What a shame.

結局、もう一つの人気メニューの牛すじカレーをテイクアウトにしてもらい。。

But after all he was able to serve us another thing that is very popular - his beef curry.

We got it to take away.

諫早公園の桜の下で美味しく頂きました。


でもあの美味しそうなバーガー、食べたかったな。

We had it under the cherry blossoms of Isahaya Park.

But those burgers look delicious I wanted to have one.

Next time I go to Nagasaki, I will.

黒川温泉/Kurokawa onsen

4月6日から1泊2日で、友達の由美子と、熊本県の黒川温泉に行ってきました。

宿は、川端通りにある、山の宿新明館に泊まりました。

Yumiko and I went to Kurokawa onsen in Kumamoto on the 6th of April.

We stayed at Shinmeikan, next to a river.

到着後、近くを散策

We went for a walk after soon we arrived at the hotel.

夕食の前にちょっと一風呂

あっと、こちらは混浴風呂なのでやめておきました。

Before dinner we went for a bath.

Oh, this way is going to men and women's mixed bath and we didn't go.

Instead we went to the cave.

先代のご主人が数年かけて掘られた手掘りの洞窟風呂です。

（この写真、翌朝、由美子が撮ってきてくれました）

This is the cave that the owner of the hotel dug for several years with chisel.

夕食は川魚、和牛、山菜の囲炉裏料理
大満足！

Dinner was BBQ: river fish, Japanese beef with mountain vegetables.

Great!!!

食事の後はまたお風呂
今度は宿の裏山にある露天風呂

After the dinner we went to another bath.

This one is a out side bath behind the mountain of the onsen.

この大きな露天風呂に貸切で入りました。

We had in this big bath to ourselves in private.

帰りの山間部の道路沿いには桜が満開になっていました。

Cherry blossom was full in bloom on the road side of the mountain when went home.

可愛い姪たち/Cute niece

3月28日から4月13日まで私だけ長崎に帰省していました。

にーちゃんはお留守番でちょっと可愛そうでしたが,

私は3年ぶりに家族や友達に会えて楽しかったです。

I went to my home town of Nagasaki by myself between 28/03/2011 - 13/04/2011.

I had a good time meeting my family and friends that I haven't seen for three years.

可愛い姪たちです。

昨年の9月に生まれた三女の七海ちゃんです。

Nanami was born last September.

千優（ちひろ）は3年前に私達が長崎からシドニーに帰る日に生まれました。
もう3歳、元気に明るく育っていました。

This is Chihiro.
She was born three years ago on the day we were in Nagasaki coming back to Sydney.
She has grown up to be very cheerful.

長女の結菜は4歳、 元気まんまん、すごいパワーです。
This is Yuna. She is four years old and full of energy.

父は全く変りなく元気でなによりです。

My father hasn't changed at all, and is very well.

妹夫婦の子供の彩花、もうすぐ10歳です。

This is my sisters child Ayaka. She will be ten years old soon.

アイザックinフラッシュモブ/Isaac in flashmob

ここは、シドニーで一番の繁華街のピットストリートモールです。

アイザックがフラッシュモブに参加してます。

Isaac performed in a flashmob that danced in Pitt st mall which
is the busiest shopping area in Sydney.

He is wearing bright yellow and green T-shirt,white pants,
yellow sun glass.

ロリキートのユーちゃん/Lorikeet's Yuu chan

.

最近は家に遊びにくるロリキートに名前をつけています。

よく観察すると、顔や性格が違うのが分かってきました。

もうひとつは色のパターンもちょっと違うのです。

.

Recently we gave names to the lorikeets that often come our house.

As I get to know them I can tell them apart from

their features, colour patterns and personality.

2ヶ月ぐらい前からよく家に来るシングルのロリキートの"ユーちゃん”です。

ユーちゃんは頭と首の横縞のパターンに特徴があります。
すごく可愛い性格なんです。

他のカップルは絶対別の鳥と一緒に餌を食べないいのですが、

ユーちゃんは他の鳥が来ても一緒にシェアしています。

そんな優しい性格のせいか後から来た鳥からつつかれて追い出されたりしてます。

頭にちょっと傷があるのもそのせいでしょう。

This is Yuu-chan.

She started coming about two months ago.

She has a "bald" spot on the top of her head and a distinctive colour pattern on her neck.

She also has a very cute character.

Usually lorikeets don't share food with other lorikeets except their partners

and will fight with each other.

But Yuu-chan always shares with the others.

I wonder if the "bald" spot is from getting attacked because she is never on guard.

ハンドフィードしても噛むことはありません。

Also unlike some of the other lorikeets she never bites when getting from a hand.

左、キューちゃん（赤ちゃん）にも優しくしています。

にーちゃんはユーちゃんがキューちゃんのお母さんじゃないかって言ってますが

私は違うと思います。

初めてキューちゃんを見たとき、確かにカップルのロリーキートと一緒だったのです。

ユーちゃんが優しいからお母さんと思っているのかもしれません。

Here is Q-chan (the baby) on the left with Yuu-chan.

Ni-chan said that maybe Yuu-chan is Q-chans mother

because she is so nice to Q-chan.

I don't think so because the first time Q-chan she with two other lorikeets.

I think that because Yuu-chan is so nice Q-chan follows her around.

昨日はにーちゃんと一緒にシャーリーの展示会に行きました。

シャーリーは私達の友達で現在東京芸術大学の大学院生です。

この展示会の為に数週間シドニーに戻って来ました。

Yesterday Ni-chan and I went to Shirley's exhibition.

She is a friend of ours who is a masters student at Tokyo University of the Arts.
She came back to Sydney for few weeks to hold this exhibition.

今回のテーマは「こま」です。

シャーリーの家族,友達が描いたいろいろな独楽のイラストを再現した展示会です。

She made spinning tops from drawings from her family and friends.

昨年、シャーリーから独楽のイラストと一言書いて東京の自宅に
送るように頼まれました。
みんなの絵を集めてポスターでもするのかなって思っていたら。。



うわーびっくり！私の変なイラストが本物も独楽になってました。
可愛いですね！



Last year Shirley asked us draw a spinning top and write some words and
I thought she collects them to make some poster or something....

Even such a complicated design she could make.

すごく楽しい展示会でシャーリーの創作力に脱帽です。

This exhibition is so much fun - Shirley is so creative.
